“Fun Friday,” that’s what the kids call it. We made a deal with Penny and her cousins, that if they go to school every day during the week, do all of their homework and have good feedback from their teachers, that we will do a fun Friday every week. Usually it’s ice cream, dinner, the park, trampoline, jumping or movie night. Well, they just happened to have a random Friday off of school, so we decided to go exploring, laughing, and soaking up the season. We love taking them over to the freedom playground in Deland, stopping at our favorite bookstore and finding something yummy to eat. Of course, we stopped at all the fishing spots along the way. We visited the most charming spot, The Garden Shop at Select Growers in DeLeon Springs, and it was such a fall dream! 🍁 From their gorgeous plant selection to the cutest festive decorations, it’s the kind of place that just makes you smile the moment you walk in. We wandered, found some treasures, and made a few new memories to tuck away for the season. Feeling grateful for simple days like this — family, fresh air, and a little fall magic. ✨ I gathered a bunch of craft supplies to do something fun with Penelope. We’ve always loved being festive for every season, and it’s been a bit of a struggle these past few months. I just wanted to do something special with her — something that felt like us again. 👻 I’ve gone back and forth about sharing a health update here — part of me feels the pull to open up, and part of me needs to hold some things close. For now, just know that I’m still here. 🎃 “Everyone is fighting silent battles we know nothing about, so please, be kind always.” 🧡 Life has certainly been hard lately. 💔 Rest Easy Leila Nina. 14 great years.
